mp 1.2 w7 sp1 problems (1 Viewer)

hello everybody, i'm having some problems after i updated to a clean w7 sp1.
now i'm using mp 1.2 and my problems are :
live tv while whatching any channel , the channel plays fine but after a few seconds
mp does not respond to any comand, i have to call task manager to end mp.
i noticed when this happens and i call task manager , i dont see the tvservice.exe entry.
it desapears from task manager.
i restart windows and i check task manager and tvservice.exe is running.
so i start mp again , play any channel , a few seconds later mp does not respond to any
comand, i check again task manager , and again tvservice. exe has desapeared.
even if i downgrade to a clean install of mp to 1.1.3 i still have the same problem.
mp does not respond to any comand while whatching live tv. channel keeps playing fine but
can not change to another one or call the epg , or maine manu, just nothing , it gets stuck at the
channel i'm watching after a few seconds
the second problem i have with mp 1.2 is that i dont see the top bar while whatching
dvd, so i dont know how to get back or pause or stop the dvd like before. so where is the top bar?
i have to use my remote to do it or grab the keyboard.
also in mp 1.2 i program the subtitles but they dont show up, not even if i use the mouse
right click and choose the subtitle manually, it does not show up.
most of the things i prgram in mp config dont work.
what am i doing wrong?
i dont want to reintal w7 without the sp1 again, i have too many games and programs to reinstal
it is just awfull to do it. w7 wihtout sp1 mp 1.1.2 works really good, no problems.
any advice?

Please can you post logs. There is a link in my signature that tells you how to do that. It is *really* easy to collect the logs. Simply click the "debug mode" link in the MediaPortal folder in your start menu, then select the first option and click proceed to start MP. When MP starts, go to the TV section and start trying to watch a channel. If/when the problem occurs, wait about 10 seconds then close MP. A zip file containing the logs and some basic system information will be created on your desktop. All you have to do is post that here.

I think we're working on a solution for the top bar issue in 1.2.0rc.

You can now attach this file to your support thread or post, warning you need to be using the forum "Go advanced" setting found under the post text box to see the next pictures advanced controls, + opens upload window, once uploaded, down arrow to right of + will attach file to post.

It looks like the DB is going down for some reason. Is your TV Server machine set up with a static IP address?

well thanks for the reply and your time. unfurtunally i do not know what db is .
i asume is a tv card or a tuner in my tv card.
and i dont know if i have a static ip.
mp is configured same as always and before used to work fine.
i'm really sorry that i dont know where to look to give you the answers to this.
if you could be more specific in details, i am a donky with terms and names.
mp is installed in one pc , i dont have a sever.
if you saw a server in the log , maybe that is the problem.
could it be the tvserver configured itself as a server not as single sit.?

Ahhh, sorry. :sorry:

"DB" is short for database. What I was saying is that it looks like the connection to your MySQL database gets lost, and that causes the TV Server (tvservice.exe) to crash. Either that or there is an issue importing the XMLTV EPG data from C:\epg\tvguide. There are *lots* of errors in the TV Server error log saying:

plugin:xmltv StartImport - File [C:\epg\tvguide] doesn't have read access : No se pudo encontrar el archivo 'C:\epg\tvguide'.

Perhaps your XMLTV configuration is wrong?

thanks again.
i will check the epg thing.
but the epg guide shows all the programs normally.
i dont see any mistakes there .
at the time i sent you the log because that was a new instal of mp
i did not ask the xmltv plugin to get the epg data.
after i grabbed the log and sent it to you
i grabbed the epg again and the channels info is all there like always.
but i will check the xmltv config to see if i find anything wrong.
other than that you are still my best hope to fix this.

ok here is another log with the epg collected.
i am thinking i'm gonna reinstal mp 1.2 and then i'm not gonna import
my tv server data from my back up data, just the channels.
i already exported my new channels list to my destop.
then i'm going to try without any of my pluggins and then
i will add them one by one, and i will configure them manually again.
just in case my back up data from the other mp 1.1.2(that is the back up data i am using)
is not well recieved by the new 1.2 install.
