[QUOTE="mm1352000, post: 1265724, member: 82144"] Hi! The log files show... 1. Play a recording: [2020-01-08 09:56:45,681] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - PlayRecording:D:\MediaPortal\Recorded TV\Sesame Street - OETA-HD - 2020-01-03.ts - using rtsp mode:False 2. Playback starts: [2020-01-08 09:56:48,267] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - g_Player.OnStarted() D:\MediaPortal\Recorded TV\Sesame Street - OETA-HD - 2020-01-03.ts media:Recording 3. Playback stops a few seconds later: [2020-01-08 09:56:51,401] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - Main: Stop playback [2020-01-08 09:56:51,404] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - g_Player.doStop() keepTimeShifting = False keepExclusiveModeOn = False The reason playback stops...? MP receives a notification from Windows that an audio renderer (output) - presumably the renderer that was being used to play the recording - was disconnected/removed: [2020-01-08 09:56:51,401] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - Main: Audio Renderer 4 - LG TV (AMD High Definition Audio Device) removed Another notification saying that the audio renderer is connected again is received a few seconds later: [2020-01-08 09:56:53,525] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - Main: Audio Renderer 4 - LG TV (AMD High Definition Audio Device) connected (...and the cycle repeats:) [collapse][2020-01-08 09:57:06,451] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - PlayRecording:D:\MediaPortal\Recorded TV\Sesame Street - OETA-HD - 2020-01-03.ts - using rtsp mode:False ... [2020-01-08 09:57:08,544] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - g_Player.OnStarted() D:\MediaPortal\Recorded TV\Sesame Street - OETA-HD - 2020-01-03.ts media:Recording ... [2020-01-08 09:57:11,641] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - Main: Audio Renderer 4 - LG TV (AMD High Definition Audio Device) removed [2020-01-08 09:57:11,642] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - Main: Stop playback ... [2020-01-08 09:57:13,514] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - Main: Audio Renderer 4 - LG TV (AMD High Definition Audio Device) connected [/collapse] MP can't play video without audio, and it can't play audio without an audio device connected. I'm not able to tell you why Windows is sending MP these notifications, though in my experience the notifications aren't uncommon shortly after initial system boot or resume (perhaps the OS has to hand-shake with the AV receiver or TV). There's only one possible workaround I'm aware of, and that is to disable "Stop playback on removal of an audio renderer[B]"[/B] here: [URL="https://www.team-mediaportal.com/wiki/display/MediaPortal1/Startup+and+Resume+Settings"]Startup and Resume Settings[/URL] The "Stop playback..." setting defaults to "on" for safety (avoidance of crashes etc.). If disabling it appears to solve the problem then happy days. If it doesn't solve the problem, or you get crashes after disabling it, you may need to investigate different versions of drivers for audio devices (or video/graphics devices, in the case of HDMI audio) etc. [/QUOTE]
