Hi,

I'm considering buying a FloppyDTV card for my htpc. A colleague of mine is running such a card in windowsXP MCE through a program called dvbs bridge. He says there is also a possibility to plug this software into MP. When searching the forum here, I only found one reference to it, but I could really find any recent stuff about it.

I would really like to know if this card is working in MP before I buy one. I would especially like it if there are any dutch users that have experience with it. Not that I don't like other comments :D, but I hate to buy this card and find out later that it doesn't work in MP for dutch channels or something.

Dont know what system you are going to use, but for me the Digital Everywhere Cards belong to the best tv cards you can get. And every cent is spend right.

They come with BDA drivers, so they work flawless inside mediaportal. No "standby issues" or somethink like i had with other tv cards. And the driver support is great. Not only there are updates, they really "belong to issues" and dont just improve some small thinks. ( E.G. TV Pack drivers for VMC ) When i think back to my Technotrend card, it took ages for new drivers - and then they did not come with many changes.

So i can recommend that cards, and would not buy anything else.

    Thanks JackTramiel, That sounds promising!

Can you give, or do you now a place where they have info on how to set it up in mediaportal?

Just start the setup of the floppy dtv software and choose bda drivers.

Then install MP with HDTV option enabled. Later open the TV Server config, click on your card and let it search for channels. Ok, this was the short version.

Best way to check how to install MP and TV Server: TV-Server - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation

Espacially have a look at the requirements.

Hi, I was hoping for more help.

I have installed a Floppydvb card now and in the software itself everything is working fine.

I can see the card in MP tv server, but when i search for channels nothing is found. I have selected the dutch list called "Nederlands - Casema" which is my provider.

No idea if I have to set anything. Can you help?

You never mentioned you own this card already, so i wonder you expected more support.

Hope you have nothing installed like DVB-S Bridge or something. You should only install the bda driver and mediaportal. On XP, also on Vista, you should consider the requirements to be found in the wiki. This might solve some scanning issues.

Unfortunatly i am not using DVB-C, so i am not aware of how to scan DVB-C channels. Thought you could do a generel scan on all frequencies without a provider list.

Ha ha...no I didn't have one yet. I bought one yesterday! I didn't expect more support, just asking for more now.......just bad english writing I guess. I have the correct drivers installed and all. MP is picking up the card ok, just the scanning is not finding anything. I have checked the smartcard in my normal receiver and it worked okay, so that's not it.

I have read the wiki, but couldn't find anything that solved my issue.
