It might be helpful as well, if you could fill out your system specs. Enter the "User CP" section above and then "Edit System Specifications".

At first glance... it looks like maybe the TV, Pics, Weather and Music plugins have been disabled in MediaPortal Config.

Also, that is your "Home" screen, Hit the ESC key (or the 3rd button at the top of the screen) and it should cycle you to the "Basic Home" screen, which should have the graphic buttons for those functions (if things work as they should).

    Chuck.

    Hi again

I'm inclined to agree with Chuck. According to previous logs:

no

no

yes

no

yes

yes

no

no

no

no

yes

yes

yes

no

no

no

no

no

So video, weather, music, pictures... all disabled. If you want to see them then you need to enable them in MediaPortal configuration.

    1. Open MP configuration.
    2. Select "plugins".
    3. Find the plugins that you want to use and click "enable".

There is info about that section of configuration in our wiki -->here<--.

That doesn't explain TV though. In those same previous logs it looks like you were able to try to view a channel, so maybe you had it enabled at the time and then disabled it later?

Just for info, easier to run MP fullscreen and press F11, you will then find picture with time\date in your windows pictures folder under mediaportal ;)

you can do that on any MP screen, even live tv\video playing.

Good morning! We filled our specs as best we can. we installeld win dvr 3 and got rid of the no encoder message, and yes, our plugins were disabled so they work now. But we still have a problem. when we click on a channel it says no audio/video detected. anyone have a thought on this. It has channel listings and info on whats on but thats it. Thank you all for your help. Happy Labor Day!

    Hi tracinjeff

The problem is with the encoders. They can be difficult to set up, and even when you get them set up correctly they can be diabolically unreliable, which is why we don't officially support such tuners. Try running the WinDVR software - it may enable the encoders to work for the trial period. Further than that, I don't think I can help. Dealing with tuners that require software encoders is simply too difficult for most people...
