MP Configuration and FFdshow (1 Viewer)

NEWBIE question

Per the MP codec guide, it shows an option for MOVIES which im missing. I've selected advanced mode and no luck.
Also, after installing the FFDSHOW the MPV decoder filter is not available.

any help wou;d be appreaciated!!

What flavour of FFDSHOW are you using and what version?

also what guide are you following can you post a link?

Are you having trouble playing a certain movie type or just following the guide?

Re codecs, perhaps try SAF

No problem playing any dvd so far. Just following the instructions in the manual. There is a option it suggests to select in the movie section for MP Config under project\movies\movie post processing\DirectVobSub that i cannot find in MP Config

It also, references FFdshow located at ffdshow tryouts | Official Website (I'm using the 64 bit ver)

Thats an old guide that refers to an earlier version of mediaportal. Transpose 'movies' for 'videos' in the current versions.

Please be aware that you will not get hardware accelleration using ffdshow on its own as suggested in that guide.

That was why I mentioned SAF (above)
