Hi from Italy and forgive me my bad english.

I wish some advice about a right configuration of MP.
In my HTPC i have only these codec FFDshow, Haali media splitter, Vsfilter-vobsub and CorecAVC

This is my configuration
DVD Codec
Video Codec: MPV Decoder Filter
Dvd Navigator : DVD Navigator
Audio Render : my sound device
Audio Codec : FFDshow audio decoder
DVD post processing : nothing
Movie player
Video Codec: FFDshow
H264 Video decoder : CorecAVC
Audio decoder: FFdshow
Audio render : my sound device
Movie Post processing: DirectVobSub and FFDshow Video Decoder
In FFdshow is checked only the subtitles

Is it correct ? Anything to change or add ? my HTPC is connected to a LCD TV 26" via HDMI with a resolution 1280x720

Sometime it happen that during a playback of a divx/xvid movie, suddenly, the movie jumps 10 minutes ahead or backward. What should be the problem ?

If i would use a external player, as zoomplayer for example, how can i use the keyboards keys during the movie playback ?

Ty so much for yours help

bye

Are you positive that you arent sitting on the remote? Or something is pressing the up arrow? (I know this is a silly question)

I was thinking the same thing. I've never heard of a codec do that.
When the movie jumps, is there an On Screen Display, like when you jump using the remote?

The only other thing I can think of is that the files you are watching have some sort of corruption which the player is jumping to the next workable section.

    Ty for the answers.

The movie jumps without any message on screen display and it happened without i touched my keyboard.
Really, i have MP since a few weeks, i have only watched 4 whole movie, but this fact it's was happened 2 time.
Nothing, instead, about any other video file smaller, as music video or quicktime trailer or demo HD.
Me too, i hope that the problem is not of MP, but is of two files that should be corrupted, also if, when i was back (or forward) in the correct position of the movie there was not more problem until the end of the movie.

That's is very strange, but perhaps is better that i watch much more whole movie before understand better.

Any advices about my configuration and about the use of external player ?

ty so much and again forgiven for my bad english

    bye bye

Yesterday it was happened again, during the playback of a quicktime trailer. I have seen, be4 that the trailer jump back, just for a moment, the mouse arrow cursor on the screen. I use a wireless mouse. So perhaps the problem is the mouse.

    bye

can you try and play the same files in Windows Media Player and see if the same thing happens? If so, then it will be some issue like a corrupt file. from your last post, it sounds like maybe the mouse scroll wheel was being accidentally triggered which would cause what you see, but I think then there should be a dialog on the screen such as -15m or something.

Don't worry about your English too much. It's much better than my Italian and I studied it in school for four years...

It's happened again :-( During the playback of a DVD ripped on the HDD. This time a really short jump back of some minutes. I don't know how can i do :-(

I luv MP and now after the work of data-entry to complete my movie and music database i discover this bug :-(

I wish try an external player inside MP, to understand where i s the problem. How can i do use an external player (zoomplayer for example) and have the focus of keyboard on zoomplayer inside MP ?

    ty for the help

I have been using mplayer as an external player. I assume zoomplayer would work in a similar way. You configure the command line of the external player under Media Portal configuration. When the external player launches it takes focus, so your keystrokes are intercepted by it. If zoomplayer does not take the focus there is probably a command line option to force it to do so.

There are also plugins for VLC and mplayer that allow them to run inside a window within MP, but I didn't really see much benefit in that approach, so kept it simple.
