MP crashes playing own AVI-files (1 Viewer)

Hi
I have converted a lot of our cartoon dvds to AVI. Output 720x576 (PAL I think), H264, 25 FPS.

I have 3 times now experienced MP "craches" on start of playing the AVI files or a few minutes into the movie.
It actually doesn't crach. It just shuts down the MP window. The MP process is still running. So when I shut that down in task manager, then it crashes, and now I have set it up to generat a log report.
I have never had that problem with MP before, so I'm surprised to see it.

I'm using dynamic frames, so it switches between 50 Hz when seeing the cartoon movies (because they are in 25 fps) and then back to 24 fps when stoping the moving and just viewing the MP menu.
It doesn't switch WHILE watching the movie, just to be clear.

I have attached the MP crach log files. I really hope someone with much much more knowledge than me (because I have almost none), can give me an idea of what the issue is.

I just updated to MP 1.2.3 hopeing that would help, but no. Issues still there. THe crach report is generated after the MP update.

Best regard Simon

What happens if you use LAV or PDVD11 instead of ffdshow for h.264 playback, any difference.

Plus what program did you use to rip these, if they are all affected could be the conversion software used, especially as other h.264 files play fine.

Are you using vmr9 on Windows7

    Hi
    Thanks for replying.
For Video H264 I used ffdshow, I will try PDVD12 instead.
    I'm using LAV for Audio.
Right now I just experienced that just watching TV made the MP windows disappear while the MP process is still running :( Without playing one of the AVI files. That is very strange and now I'm getting a little scared.

I used Leawo Video Converter and AVS Video Converter to convert the videos from DVD files to AVI.

Under "Video Rendere" in MP settings I'm using VMR9 yes, if thats what you mean.

    Hi,
Can you try by setup EVR in codec renderer setting and not vmr9 ?
On Win7 it's better to use EVR :)

    Hi again
Seems EVR got it working yes. Thank you very much. The MP team should write "recommende for Win 7" in a footnote in the settings windows :)

Perhaps you can help me with a different issue. As mentioned, I have ripped some DVD to 720x576. The strange thing is that MPC-HC doesn't automatically make the films full size for the screen. And that also happens in MP. The films is just 1/4 of the whole screen.
Why doesn't the "normal" intelligent zoom function work for these films I have ripped?
Do I need to set something in MP settings so these films will automatially get to full screen?

Go in to the properties box by right clicking on the video, does not sound like they are 720x576, saying that what size screen are you outputting to.

You might want to try the Intelligent Frame Correction pkugin (IFC)

I also tend to disable original as a zoom mode for videos tv and dvd.

If I right click the file, properties and see details, it says 720x576.
I think my ripped films have black borders left and right. I actually haven't seen if they should be there.
But when displayed in MP they also have big black borders in top and bottom.

I have tried IFC now. It worked on one film I think. But the rest til now, it's like it's not working.
Not sure it there is some critical seetings I have to do to make it work.

I can say that when I chose the regular "Zoom mode" then it makes my films full screen.
Can I make that zoom mode default? or is that a bad thing.

Sorry, my mistake. I had "resize" enabled in ffdshow. After disabling it, IFC begins to work now :)

    Thanks for your help :)
