Area: Media Portal Program MP Version: 0.1.3 and 0.2.0 Skin: none..MP never loads Windows Version: Windows XP SP2 CPU Type: AMD 2400+ Memory: 1gb Motherboard Chipset: American Megatrends Video Card: nVidia GeForce FX 5200 Video Card Driver: nv4_disp.dll 6.14.0010.7801 Video Card Resolution: 1600x1200 Video Render Type: no clue...it has never run Video Codec Type & Version: no clue...it has never run Audio Codec Type & Version: no clue...it has never run TV Card: Hauppage WinTV PVR 150 TV Card Driver: Hauppage 2.2.23257 Optional Log: This is all that is in the log:
11/25/2005 12:56:15 PM Create new wizard setup
I installed the following: 1st try: MP 0.1.3 and .NET 1.1 2nd try: MP 0.1.3 and .NET 1.1 sp1 3rd try: MP 0.2.0 and .NET 2.0 4th try MP 0.2.0 with latest CVS build and .NET 2.0 I have checked for updates from Microsoft for both my OS and for .NET and I have all the latest versions. Synopsis: Basically, I cannot even get the program to run. It crashes before it even launches. I try to launch MediaPortal Setup Wizard shortcut/link and I get an error. I try to launch the configuration.exe directly and I get an error. At first, I was getting .NET style error windows which gave me no explanation of what the error was(also, these errors differed in the process numbers each time, for obvious reasons): Then, after re-installing .NET (starting with 1.1 and moving on to 2.0) about 5 times, and installing the latest CVS, I got this error: Clicking 'What data...blah blah?' gives me this: EventType : clr20r3 P1 : configuration.exe P2 : 1.0.2155.25721 P3 : 43870ee3 P4 : system.drawing P5 : 2.0.0.0 P6 : 4333aeaf P7 : 7a8 P8 : 6c P9 : system.argumentexception So I made sure...for the THIRD TIME that I had all the latest drivers, programs, and so on. I ran DXDIAG and I have 9.0c I checked Hauppage, and I have the latest driver. I went to Microsft 10 times to make sure I didnt miss any updates to the .NET software or my OS. During all of this, I un-installed, rebooted, re-installed everything from scratch numerous times. I am at a loss. Normally I am good at debugging and finding the errors, but this time I cant even find anything in the forums about this issue. PLease help if you can or point to a discussion I might have missed--WITHOUT FLAMING ME.
