Hi,

simple problem. mp doen't play the dvd-subtitles. there are no problems with mpc-hc.

i use the version 1.0.2 and 1.1.0 with and without saf unlocked. i used the directvobsub- and ffdshow-subtitle-filter.

i don't know whats wrong? isn't there a subtitle-support?

MP 1.1.0 uses its own subtitle engine (which is actually adapted from mpc-hc iirc). You activate subtitles in MP Configuration under videos.

Does MP1.1.0 display 'forced' subtitles? MP1.0.2 and prior most certainly does not.
IE, I don't want the main movie to be completely subtitled, but when watching Star Wars, I want to see what Greedo &/or Jabba are saying. Every dvd player in the world displays 'forced' subtitles without hassle - except MediaPortal.

Nothing, doesn't work. MP shows a Windows with the Number and the Name of the Sub, but there are no subs.

Is there a special software or codec i have to install to use subs?

is there a diffrent if i play the dvd from harddisc or from dvd? the dvds i used with mp are on the harddisc.

    edit
ok, it seems there is a problem with the xp-installation. i installed mp on vista sp2, here the subs are ok.

Forced subtitles can also be lost when creating an iso in certain cases. I ran into that problem when using dvdshrink and re-authoring to get just the movie. Generally a full rip doesn't that that issue. Try a real dvd if you experience this.
