Although i found several threads regarding freezes after standby, my problem seems to be different.
i configured mp to restart after waking from standby because the resolution of mp is not correct due to hdmi handshake switching the resolution multiple times. so i have a 1600x1200 mediaportal (the resloution of the default video adapter) on an 1920x1080 screen. restarting mp fixes this.
but sometimes mp doesnt restart and freezes instead (see logfile: some "invalid handle" error during restart). it doesn't happen every time and i couldn't find a pattern. i noticed the mp window again changing size to something even smaller than 1600x1200 before freezing, if that is any help...
