MP freezes for ~5sec. when activating TV und VISTA (1 Viewer)

Hi,

when I start TV under vista, MP freezes for about 5sec. and the fullscreen-window gets it border back with this "Task reagiert nicht" message. As soon as the first picture is received everything is fine again.
Maybe you shouldn't render the TV-picture in mainthread. Swapping the render-task to another thread would prevent alot of blocking.

Using a separate thread for rendering has been tried once in MP's history, but unfortunately the architechture of MP is not the best possible one for such kind of changes. There were huge amount of different kinds of issues caused by the separate rendering thread and to fix those it would have required huge refactoring (easialy 50% of code) to sort those out. MPII will have the architecture right from the start...

Also it would be nice to see the logs about the tv startup, as it shouldnt take that long (on my HTPC it takes approx one second to turn the tv on for the first time).
