[confirm] MP Freezing in TV Guide (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys,

I have had this problem three times today where I can watch a TV show for a while, bring up the TV guide and select another show and MP just freezes in the TV Guide. The only way to overcome this is to shutdown MP via Task Manager.

I have attached the logs that MP watchdog generated.

Your zip file seems to be incomplete - no actual logs in there. Could you please regenerate and repost using option 3 in the watchdog (debug mode).

Could it have happened at around 14:49? It is just that there isn't too much in the logs before that, and there does seem to be a problem that occurs at around that time:

My best guess is that it is a nasty TV Server side issue. The entries in the MediaPortal and TV Server logs suggest you tried to tune More +1 (is that right?):

I've seen this once before, and I was never able to figure out what was going on. In this case I see the continuity errors in your logs, so maybe it is bad signal related. This is a really nasty one though.

I've got to go to bed now (3:30am here) but I'll try and take another look in the morning when I'm fresh...

It was probably about 14:49 and it did occur after I tried to tune to More4+1.

More4+1 is a satellite channel. I haven't had any problems with receiving the sat signal and the TBS card I use is as steady as a rock. Interesting though....

I've had another look at the code and I suspect that the issue may be that TsWriter gets stuck in an endless loop "somewhere" in the processing of TS packets. There are four top-level things that are done with a packet when it arrives:
- scan for channels (only if actually scanning for channels)
- scan for channel links (only if actually scanning for channels)
- handle the video, audio, teletext and conditional access info
- handle EPG info

Obviously we can rule the top two areas of code out straight away as you weren't scanning for channels. The other two areas are *huge* - I've got very little hope of finding a problem if it is in the video/audio/teletext handling. However, we may be able to find it if it is in the EPG code. Tell me: do you have either the idle or timeshifting EPG grabber enabled?

Thanks for having another look. In the config I don't set it to grab EPG whilst timeshifting. I always set it to grab whilst idle. I can't remember why now I do this, but I think there may have been a problem a couple of years back and I just set it up as I have been used to doing.

It froze again last night, and again it was whilst in the EPG guide. I have asked the GF to make a mental note of what she was doing when it freezes - she seems to watch TV more than I. It may just be useful to see if it is doing it at the same point in a sequence of key presses.

EDIT: Froze again... happened on TV Guide, and when trying to tune to a DVB-S Channel. Logs attached.
