Andrew, my comment about finding a lot of unwanted encrypted channels was just an unsolicited, off topic rant. Sorry about that. Now, I found the Free to Error check box, 2 levels deep in Edit Channel -- never been there before. And I see now that the red and green indicators with each channel is what you both are referring to as the FTA flag. So I am including 3 pictures that show info about the channels that I use. But first, an up to date summary: My MP htpc can tune ANY and ALL of the channels, irregardless of the FTA flag. It can successfully record ANY of the channels. It can successfully record ANY two channels at the same time, unless the 2nd recording started is KOLDHD or KMSBHD. It can successfully record KOLDHD or KMSBHD and any other channel if KOLDHD or KMSBHD recording is started first. So the problem is most likely interference of some sort that is messing up the Hauppauge tuner. The first image show how I tune QAM channels. (I have never intentionally done anything with or about the FTA flags) The second image is the Channels screen. Note the same FTA for KOLDHD on the main screen and the first edit level. The third image is the All Channels screen. Note the different FTA for KOLDHD on the main screen and the first edit level. So I see how to set all the FTA flags -- thanks -- but since the channels are already tunable, does it make any difference?
