Hi

I'm using mac mini (intel CD 1.66, 1G ram) + mac os x as my HTPC, I like to move to MP.

1 - Is there any known MP issues on mac mini?
2 - can I use apple remote to control MP?
3 - should I pic Win XP or Vista (for installing MP)?
4 - is there any issues with VIDEO_TS under MP,
will all my movis be under the same menu (movis menu will include divx/xvid & VIDEO_TS)?
3 - will MP load subtitle file (*.srt, *.sub) and play it with divx/xvid?
4 - can I add cover art to VIDEO_TS, divx/xvid, mp3, wma files?
6 - can I play ripped HD (HDDVD_TS) with MP?
5 - will MP work with hauppauges HVR-950 ?http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products/data_hvr950.html

Thx for the help
:)

Running MP on the Mac Mini should be no different to running it on any other PC - once the Mac Mini has booted into Windows then everything is as you would expect.
Other than the EFI that replaced the BIOS, all modern Macs use standard PC components.

    1. As far as I am aware there are a few users here that have MP runnign on a Mac Mini with no problems at all.
    2. I am 99% sure that it does, but search the Remotes section to be sure.

I use MiniMac with Windows XP and bootcamp (2 GB RAM).
    1. I have no issues whatsoever
    2. Hmm.. It may be good for MP3 player, but not for MP. Invest in MCE Remote.
    3. Win XP is my preferred system - Vista still has issues
The rest of questions is really MP related:
    4. Don't have any issues.
    3. No problems with srt or sub subtitles, only embedded mkv subtitles give some headaches to ppl.
    4. yes
    6. you can. I don't use HD on my minimac, so I can't say anything about performance.
    5. dunno.

First thx u guys for the reply ;-)

To be clear - I will see ALL me movies under the same "movies" menu?
(not like VMC - that the divx/xvid are under movies & VIDEO_TS is under DVD-L)

I think i will go and install XP + MP ASAP! :)
Again thx you for the help

Yes, you will be able to see them under the same "movies" menu.
You also have more plugins available, which help you customize the behaviour.
