If your CPU supports something like this, try disabling it.</p><p></p><p>Harddrive:</p><p>Ensure that you harddrive is using DMA transfer mode if its an IDE harddrive. Check that CPU load is low when the harddrive is working.</p><p></p><p>CPU usage:</p><p>Run MediaPortal in windowed mode, and check the CPU usage when watching something, it shouldnt be too high, watch for 100% cpu usage spikes.
