Hi there,

I have a problem since RC3 with MP where if I change from a channel with AC3 audio to one with standard MPEG (or the reverse), I just get a blank screen and no sound. I can use the rest of MP at this stage, it doesn't freeze anything, just all channels are blank with no sound. I then need to restart MP to get the TV working again. When I quit MP it also gets locked in memory and I need to kill it from the task manager to restart it.

I accidently found a way around this - if I start timeshifting I can change to an MPEG channel, then switch it off and the channel still works. But it will get the same error if I try and switch back to AC3 without turning timeshifting on again. So it just seems to be a problem switching between those two audio formats while viewing normal TV.

I have tried using every different audio codec, no success. I have also deleted all my TV channels and rescanned, this has not helped either. I can put a fake AC3 PID in for an MPEG channel and it will then change ok and I get a picture, but no sound obviously... Any ideas?

Cheers,

Nathan

Yes, this was a "known bug" - apply the latest SVN for RC3 and it will be fixed.... :)

I just noticed that the instructions for applying an SVN to RC3 are not correct - step 1 should refer to RC3, not RC4...

    Hi,

I have the same problem with MP 0.2 RC4. Until now I tried a lot of things, but it was not possible for me to solve this problem.

Could it be that the bug is now back in RC4?

For me changing codecs results in different behaviors, but the problem is never solved completely.

Especially the german sat-channels KABEL1 and VOX are problematic.

I see this too. With TS off it will crash MP after a while.

With TS on, audio/video just gets out of sync, requiring one to rewind a few secs into the TS buffer.

I can't find the setting, is it in MP config??? But where?

Please give me a hint, do I need a recent build?

You can find "Enable Hardware Pid Filtering" in MP setup when you edit you tv card. It is on the first sheet (before autotune).

I think that the option "Enable Hardware Pid Filtering" is only visible for DVB-S cards - it certainly doesn't exist for DVB-T cards....
