I have an mediacenter PC running Vista and MediaPortal in my livingroom.
And i have an laptop running XP. Have also installed MP on this.
Have a wireless connection on both computers.
Can i gain access from my laptop to my PC in the livingroom wich have all my stuff on external harddrives?
And one more thing, if i play a movie on my laptop or PC in livingroom and it being tagged as watched, will it stay tagged as watched on both machines?
Thanks for any help i can get.

Yes - you need to create windows shares (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040) on your mediacenter PC's external hard drives and enter the UNC path to those shares in your My Videos / My Music etc settings on your laptop.

No - MP uses its own local database to keep track of watched items so if you watch a movie on your laptop, it will still show as unwatched on your mediacenter PC.

Thanks. Got that to work.
Too bad about the watched taggins tho.
Then i if i see a part of an movie in my livingroom and then continue from my laptop it won't ask me if i want to continue where i left off.
And whenever i get a new movie or tvshow i will have to scan both computers.
Guess there's no solution to that.

You could try using a script to copy the TV Database from one PC to the other 'on bootup' (but before MP loads) when the remote database is newer then the local database. You'll need to setup both PCs to use mapped drives for the shares even if it's actually locally attached.
Simply put, you want both MPs to be using the same folders\paths & shares to ensure database accuracy.
