MP V1.1.2 Randomly Freezes (2 Viewers)

Hi All,

I have this random issue where MP V 1.1.2 freezes - often it's when I try to play a recording, but can be in other places as well e.g. while watching a recording.

This has happened since upgrading to 1.1.1 and also in 1.1.2. I have also installed ForTheRecord.

It happened today and I needed to reboot my machine as I could not get out of MP with Alt F4. Is there another way to drop back to the desktop if MP freezes or a setting somewhere in the config that allows Alt F4 to work?

I have attached some log files from today, so hopefully there is something in there that would help.

Hi all,

This happened again tonight

I tried opening a recording which had not finished i.e. timeshifting which may have been the case on other examples - could this be a timeshifting issue?

Would appreciate some help with this one and any advice on how I can get out of Media Portal when frozen, otherwise I have to cold reboot where the machine takes ages to boot up because I have mirrored hard drive which goes through a "repair" process that has to be broken.

Graham, Sorry I can't offer any help other than to suggest you try not using ffdshow in codec/selection. I've been having the same issues with 1.1.2 and could not solve the freezing completely. I have resorted back to 1.1.0 twice now, Once on XP and once on 7.I was having this freezing issue with both setups.

Thanks for the reply - it's at least good to know that I'm not the only one having this issue and I have also found it's only started happening on V 1.1.1 and 1.1.2.

Do you also run ForTheRecord? The reason I ask is that it has also started happening since moving to this application for recording.

I was hoping my log files may highlight the issue, so if one of the developers could take a quick look, I would appreciate it.

Will need to wait until I have the issue again - this means I have to reboot - will the log file be overwritten in this case? What are the names of the files you are specifically interested in?
