MP with two set-top-boxes and a MCE blaster (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I need some help with my configuration of MP. I have a Windows XP Media Center computer with a Hauppauge PVR-500 tv-tuner card, two set-top-box'es and the MCE Remote control and keyboard.

I just can't figure out how to set these things up in MP, I have used Windows MCE until now, and it have worked great, but now I wanted to test out MP.

What I want to do is to control both my set-top-boxes that are connected to my two composite/s-video on my pvr-500 tv-card, and use my MCE Blaster to control those to set-top-boxes.

I have done this in Windows Mediacenter and it was easy, but how do I do this in MP? I know I have to download the MyBlaster plugin and configure it, but I can't understand how to configure the input signal's for my tv cards that has to composite/s-video inputs.

Please help me

Just described my exact setup, would suggest you first take a look at the MCE Replacement Plugin, found here;

I know this works as I use it, though I use an external command and some hardware that controls my Sky boxes via RF2 but I did try at the start with IR blasters.

I found it very easy to configure and provides a high level of control, hope that helps some.

Did you succeed in controlling the STBs using blasters from the guide as in MCE?

Sure I did right at the start, came to MP via MythTV and MCE (on Vista) and a lot of late nights so to tell you the truth not 100% sure. I moved fairly quickly to SkyControl as the IR blaster route looked somewhat untidy, both boxes the same so black sicky tape involved!

May have to plug the IR control box and blasters back in to check...BTW the IR unit and blasters are as suppied with the PVR-500MCE card.

Finally!

I have finally managed to get everything working. Controlling my two STB's (kreatel Set-Top-Boxes from Vesterålskraft)!

I'll come back with a detailed discription, it wasn't that difficult, it just took some time figuriong out what to do to solve all those little problems
