MP won't start -- freezes (1 Viewer)

CPU Type: Pentium 4 M
HDD: 30G
Memory: 1G
Video Card: Radion Mobility 7500

I'm a first rate NOOB at MP. I've got a Dell Latitude laptop I'm trying to run this on. I have a fresh install of XP SP3, fully updated, with DirectX 9.0c. I've got a recent FFDshow. I've installed MP without the TV support at this time. Every time I start it, it won't fully start. The only cure is a powerdown. It makes it through various stages of the startup routines, but never gets to the end. Sometimes, it crashes the video driver and drops to 4 bit video.

Any thoughts?

Hi there and welcome

Looks like you video card is only directx 7 compatible. You need a full diretx9 compatible card. If want to read full requirements, see this page in manual.

Sounds like you hit is spot on. That rots. DirectX 9.0c installs, dxdiag says it's there and tests fine, but the AMD site is clear as day.

It's a laptop I'm trying to run it on, so upgrading the video isn't an option. I guess I'm out of the running for MP. Bummer.
