Patch for v013? Not shure where to change the sample queue.

v0013 patch file added to first post.

(The sample queue size is set by:

    #define NUM_SURFACES 5

    in 'EVRCustomPresenter.h')

Hi Edterbak - I am having similar issues to you.

    I have a HD4550 with 512MB memory.

I have reinstalled Windows 64bit Ultimate and reinstalled RC4. It does run a bit more smoothly, but the RC4 dshowhelper is terrible for me.

V2 and V4 of Owlsroost are best with V2 being slightly better. I am still getting slight judder on 24hz panning shots on x264 files. I cannot say for sure but with advice given on this thread, I think I have got this smoothed out with ReClock.

However, my problematic 25hz xvids are still hopelessly jerky and reclock makes little difference. I have tried to change the 'Deinterlacing' option if ffdshow to double up the frames and I think this is helping, but far from ideal.

I really am wondering if my graphics card is suffiecient or not. I play back on a Panasonic 1080p plasma tv.

Can someone confirm - I have vector adaptive set in CCC, but where is the vsync setting that edterbak mentions?

I appreciate everyone's guidance. I will try the new dlls tonight.

Have you tried re-muxing the files to another container format e.g. mkv ? (mkvmerge can probably do this, but I don't know for sure). Did you create these originally or are they downloads from somewhere - they might be badly converted 24 fps originals maybe ?

Attach a screen capture with the render stats on screen, and a log file using my dll - in case it shows up anything obvious...

    Hi Owlsroost,

Can I just say that whilst , for me , it is not quite perfect, V12 is streets ahead of anything I have tested.

The problematic files that I have, have a tendency to start off out of synch and then that blows the playback out and I can get really bad judder which is unrecoverable.

This version seems to recover from any synch issues within about 4 seconds with the green and red lines converging and lying steadily close together. (this is without reclock).

However, my h264 panning sample does jump just mildly. About every minute (it seems consistent, the red line skips temporarily and then recovers and returns back near to the green line)

I have not remuxed yet, but a 1080p rip of the same program, behaves identically.

This is so close to being perfect!!! - I am extremely observant and I would say that some people would probably not pick up on this.

The only other observation is that the render ovrlay seems not to appear with my 1080p sample depending on the codec. I am finding I am getting the most luck with Microsoft codecs for mpg and h264 and the stats seem to appear when I use the Microsoft codec for 1080p h264 but not with other codecs.

I don't know what the answer is, but if the regular (but mild) spiking of the red line is solved this would be absolutely brilliant.

Given a lot of the other dlls have been pretty awful for me, this is a huge improvement - congratulations!

Thanks for your hard work and persistence.

If you get the crashes again, can you attach logs please (the full MP set - use the MP logs collector app).
