Re: AW: MP1 EVR Presenter/dshowhelper community development

    @Owlsroost and tourettes:
I tested both of the test dshowhelper DLLs but none of them worked.

I then followed tourettes explanation and changed the audio renderer from "directsound audio" to "ReClock audio renderer".
First I used the 2nd test dshowhelper.dll and it kind of worked but only the audio was moving quickly but not the video! The video kept playing with 1x or 2x.
I then switched back to the dshowhelper.dll that I got from the MP audio renderer thread and with that one it works perfectly fine!

So I think with MP 1.2.x it will work as well because that dshowhelper.dll should be in there, right?

However, is there any drawback if I use ReClock audio renderer instead of DirectSound audio renderer?

Thank you both for your great support!

I use ReClock for everything except live TV - the downside is the increase in CPU load/slight loss in sound quality with the resampling (but I think it is possble to disable that and just use it as a renderer).

The MP 1.2.0 dshowhelper is basically the same as the MP Audio Renderer version, but with the audio renderer support disabled.

Could you try the attached dshowhelper please ? - it's another variation on the FFWD method :)

    Owlsroost:
I tested your test3 dshowhelper.dll and it works great for FFWD!!!

However, if I use fast rewind, only the time line is moving but neither audio nor video.
So I think if you can make that work than it is perfect!

    Good job :)

It doesn't work for me either....with standard or my dshowhelper installed, but according to Tourettes it should - https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-development-no-feature-request-here-48/mp1-evr-presenter-dshowhelper-community-development-81148/index59.html#post677065 - so I suspect the problem is back in the MP player code.

Does rewind work for you with the standard MP 1.1.1 dshowhelper ?

TsReader at least at some point didn't even support backwards playback at all. Not sure if it is the case now as well. Please check with some other source filter (haali for example) - but not with DVD's since they are handled completely differently (and much better from the source filter side already...).

Hi Owlsroost! Thank you for al your hard work over here.

I have tried all your DLL's but HDTV keeps stuttering. No problems though with SDTV and all kind of other video's, even up to FullHD. Finally I thought to start in debug mode to produce some logs, because I am getting a bit angry on my HTPC when watching HDTV. Maybe you can find some time to have a look at my logs.

Not really the correct thread for this, but I think a 9400GT is not powerful enough for 1080i video to a 1920 x 1080 display. It's the hardware de-interlacing load that is the problem - that's why 1080p video is OK, but 1080i (e.g. HDTV) stutters.

    Hello,
yes that is also my experience. Also a Ati HD5450 is not powerful enough for 1080i with MediapPortal.
The strange thing is that it works perfect on the same hardware with Windows Media Center and DVBViewer. Is it possible to optimize MePo so that 1080i also works. What is Windows 7 Media Center and DVBViewer doing better?

The v0037 dll completly eliminates the stuttering issues with LiveTV on my system.

So just a short "Thank you" at this point !! :)

Somehow the last upgrade of MP introduced stuttering. A fresh install of Win7 with MP and the v37 dll and all stuttering is gone with my Nvidia 9400GT. :D

(actually, I end up reinstalling every time after I upgraded)
