I'm looking for some software that will allow me to manage the media that's on my portable device (Archos 404) when it is not plugged in.
I've looked at Windows Media Player, MediaMonkey Winamp and some random others so far. With the exception of MediaMonkey, everything I've looked at requires the player to be plugged in before you can start to manage it. The weakness with MediaMonkey as I could see it, was that it was only particular folders or playlists that you could manage the sync over, rather than Artist, Album, Video lists. I like the way WMP does things when the device is plugged in. It would be perfect if it remembered your device after you unplugged it.
Quite often, I'll be listening to something or have just acquired something and think that I'd like to get it onto my portable device. A couple of days later when I get round to it, I can't remember what it was that I wanted to put on there.
Can anyone point me in the direction of anything they use to achieve the above?
Many Thanks
John
