I installed the current version of MPTagThat2 (1.0.0.466) and it closes immediately after launching. The log file is not helpful. I installed it on both a Windows 10 pc and a Windows 11 virtual machine (both fully updated) and the behavior is the same.

i have seen this happening, when another version is active on the system.
one level up where you found the log file, there is a Config folder. in this folder you should see a file called MPTagThat.Core.Services.Settings.Setting.MPTagThatSettings.xml.
Search for "DebugLevel" and change the "Info" to "Trace".
Save the file and start it again.
Then pack all the Logs that you find in the log folder please.

Thanks for the quick response Helmut. I tried this first on the Window 11 VM since that did not have a prior installation of MPTagThat. I will also change the logging level on the Windows 10 pc and compare the log files to the ones I sent you to see if they they are different (I'm fairly sure there was a prior version of MPTagThat on the Win10 pc).

It could be that the issue is related to enumering the drives.
I see that you have 2 drive letters mapped to a network address, i guess a NAS.
I have it similar here and don't see any crash.

Could you try unmapping those drives?

What you could try as well, is changing the LastFolderUsed value to an existing location on a local drive.
In the settings file, which you used t change the debug level:

    <Setting name="LastFolderUsed">D:\Music\John Fogerty\Revival</Setting>

Helmut, thanks for the suggestions. I had already tried unmapping the drives as that seemed like a potential failure point but that made no difference. Entering a known folder location for the LastFolderUsed setting (I used the Windows Music folder) worked and MPTagThat stayed open. I remapped the NAS folders and MPTagThat has no problem with them. Thanks again and happy holidays!

    Thanks for letting me know.
Will have a look into that after the holidays. Maybe I am setting the Music folder as default on a new install to prevent the crash.
