Hi all, This is NOT a support request, nor is it quite a bug report. I am just posting this for everyone's knowledge and to have this info "archived" on the support forum. Area: Media Portal Program MediaPortal Version: 0.2.0.0 RC3$CVS-28.03.2006- 1:02:44,49 (2006-03-28) MediaPortal Skin: BlueTwo Windows Version: Windows XP (SP2) .NET CLR Version: 2.0.50727 DirectX Version: 4.09.00.0904 (9.0c) Audio Codec: MPEG/AC3/DTS/LPCM Audio Decoder Video Codec: DScaler Mpeg2 Video Decoder CPU Type: Intel Pentium 4 - 2.66GHz Memory: 510 MB Motherboard: D915GAV (Intel Corporation) TV Card Model: Hauppauge WinTV PVR-500 TV Card Type: Hardware TV Card Driver: 2.0.35.23348 Video Card Model: Radeon X300/x550 Series (128 MB) Video Card Driver: 8.205.0.0 Video Card Resolution: 800x600 Video Render Type: VMR9 Audio Card Model: Creative X-Fi Audio Processor (WDM) Audio Card Driver: 5.12.14.1144 Synopsis:: When you run the installer (setup.exe), it goes through some basic screens, then when it is about to actually do the install, it jumps straight to the last screen (without actually installing anything) and you see: "The installer was interrupted before Application could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again. Click "Close" to exit." This is a problem with the MSI installer from RC2 and RC3. This is true if the MSI (or setup.exe) is run from a SUBSTituted drive. It is a problem with Microsoft's MSI. Some MSI packagers get around this by having the setup.exe copy the file to C:\Windows\Temp before extracting/executing the MSI. If you're running the MSI file from a drive letter created with SUBST, try copying/moving/running it from a real physical drive letter. Thanks! Patrick
