I have a MSI TV@nywhere Pro installed in a win 7 64bit, with all latest updates, and when I try to scan for tv channels I get a message that a supported encoder is needed. All I can find in the MediaPortal wiki is that I would have to buy a third party encoder, Windows Media Center sees the output from the card fine, but won't install without a IR receiver.
So I need to know if buying one of those 3rd party encoders is the only way to make Media Portal work. If it is, then it is cheaper to buy a IR recieiver than buying an encoder. Of the three listed in the wiki post, two are either not available or completly gone.
Thanks for any advise.
