Hello

I have a two-disc DVD that I want to rip into Moving Pictures. I want Moving Pictures to combine the discs into one movie. I've searched the forum and someone suggested to rename the folders to "DVD 1" and "DVD 2" so I tried to do like this: MOVIE_NAME\DVD 1\VIDEO_TS etc. but that doesn't work.

It is possible to make this work by renaming the folders correctly? Or do I have to convert to iso or use the importer to manually join the movies?

Thanks
Benjamin

Converting to ISO would definitely work. I've got the ISOs named 'DISC1' & 'DISC2'.

You don't have to rely on auto grouping. Just import both individually then in the importer select both at the same time (CTRL-click) and then click the merge button on the toolbar. They will be combined and reimported as a single two disk movie.

Thanks but I kinda knew these options already. The thing is, I would like to do this without using the importer and without converting. Is is possible?

I am not sure I understand what you are looking for. The importer will attempt to automatically pair what it thinks is two part content. This is mostly based on the file or folder name. There are infinitely many naming conventions so sometimes this will fail. As a backup you can manually merge multiple video files (or disks) into a single movie in the importer panel.

If your media doesn't fit a naming convention we support, you are unwilling to rename things and you are unwilling to use the tool we have designed for managing situations like this then you are about out of options. Sorry...
