The importer will attempt to automatically pair what it thinks is two part content. This is mostly based on the file or folder name. There are infinitely many naming conventions so sometimes this will fail. As a backup you can manually merge multiple video files (or disks) into a single movie in the importer panel.  If your media doesn't fit a naming convention we support, you are unwilling to rename things and you are unwilling to use the tool we have designed for managing situations like this then you are about out of options.
