Newbie... newbie question... (please don't insult me if I ask a silly thing)

I run MP on a PC in the living room and everything's ok. I run MP 1 RC1 (and looking forward for RC2) and TVserver-client configuration on the same PC. It works great with me.

Now, I've setup a wireless network in my home and I'm looking to access tvserver from another PC (tv client). By reading through wiki and forums it should work ok... (finger crossed)

I was wondering, i have another tv in the kitchen (where I spend most of the evenings and dinners), I was looking to access the TV server broadcast also from there. What are the options ? A PC with a MP client would be the easiest answer I guess... but I want something smaller and nicer (I'm also considering mini-itx solutions) so....

I've seen there are several multimedia players on the market (I could name tomacro LIMHD, Divco Tvix for instance) that are able to access media (.mpg, dvds, .avi and also .ts) stored on other drives and read them even wirelessly.

After this long intro.... My question is: could it possibly work if one of those multimedia players could read the temporary .ts file produced by TVserver for timeshifting purposes and basically stream tv ? Can anybody answer me ?

Thank you in advance !!!!

In theory it could work, but...

#1 TV server uses multiple .ts files and after those are "full" the oldest files are taken into use again. This will most likely cause playback issues on the client side as it will just play most likely one file and after it sees the end it will stop.

#2 Changing channels is not possible as the client cannot control the TV server.

in MP2 there will be a streaming solution for these to work, but at the moment, it's not really possible.
A lot of effort may get you some results, but I think just buy an Asus book PC (the little tiny ones based on a 690 chipset and AM2).
These will cost not much more than a multimedia player and give great results.
