Guys,

I have many DVD's that have two discs, when using the Movies section of mediaportal, I could add two .IFO files and then i would get prompted
which one I would like to play (it was simple - just showing two discs, but you understood what it meant).

Can you do the same in Moving Pictures, I have a directory structure as follows:

Movies
DVD Rips
Movie xyz
Disc 1
Disc 2

Anyway to make this work in Moving pictures?

Thx

Gary

Are your discs actual physical discs, or images ripped to iso format or something?

I just created two iso's named
The Matrix disc 1 [1999].iso
The Matrix disc 2 [1999].iso

The importer imported them as one movie. When I go to play that movie, it prompts me, showing two discs asking which one I would like to play. This sounds like what you're after.

If you are referring to physical media, then I'm not sure if this is possible.

Zealot,

Thx for your help, the movies i have are full DVD rips stored on my hard disk, so there would be two folders such as:

Movies\DVD\Matrix\Disc 1\<ifo file>
Movies\DVD\Matrix\Disc 2\<ifo file>

Doesn't seem to pick up as one movie for me :( any ideas ?

I arranged the files as you described.
attachment.php

Then merged the files.

Entered a custom search string. (You may not need to do this if you have Moving Pictures set up with folder name priority.)
attachment.php

Win

Thx for that... Now one last question ... ;)

Can I do this for movies that I have already in my DB, i.e merge two existing files together ?

In the config, go to the movie manager tab, select the movie(s) and click the green down arrow icon. This will send them back to the importer tab.

Just to add to this if you would name your multi-part folders: DVD 1, DVD 2 they would be merged automatically.
On top of that it would use the parent folder of those folder to make the search an it will probably be a complete automated (auto-accepted) entry ;)
