Hello

I might be on my way back to mediaportal an mediaportal tv server, because of the possibility of using XBMC(linux) as clients, still testing this.

I am missing one small thing in MP1.2. I have been used to being able of creating several recording folders in 4therecord, so I could have a folder named fx. wifeTV, Movies and KidsTV, this way it get a lot easier to find thing for the kids the they want to see something. Then I program a recording I just choose which of the folders it should be placed in.

It will be hard for me to live without this, so my question is, can this be done in MP

Best regards Rantzauer

Hi and welcome back rantzauer :)

As far as I know TV Server doesn't support multiple recording folders. However as NickName says you can use the ForTheRecord plugin or Argus TV Server with MediaPortal front-end. If ForTheRecord supports this feature then use MP + ForTheRecord to get what you want.

    Hey

    Thanks for the answers

Yes I know that I can use for the record in MP, and that might be the solution I end up with, and use MP as front-end on the clients.
But the reason that I asked my question was that I would rather use XBMC as front end, and then use XBMCTVSERVER plug-in to connect to MP tv server. This way I could use linux clients in the house.

With this I would be able to run the clients with only a OS footprint of 2-300mb (openelec xbmc pvr packages are so smooth :) ).
I love MP and all it features, but hate windows, its slow start-ups, and that I need 4-5 licences to cower my needs in the house, and that it takes up 15-25 gb of space before you are finished, it is so unnecessary for a pc that is only working as htpc.

MP 1.2 looks very cool and stable, so I might just have to live with windows for now :), so I can enjoy this great software.

For Christmas I wish a Mediaportal client for Linux( yea I now. But it is ok to dream is it not :D )

    Thanks for your help.
