Hi,

Really impressed by Mediaportal now that I have it setup. I will definitely donate.
One feature that I can't figure out is how to access the video folders.
I'm using Extreme GUI but I could use a different one if necessary.

In the Mediaportal Config - Videos - Video Folders I have a Movie folder and I have second folder Documentaries

In media portal - Movies I see all of my movies as expected.
When I select MediaPortal - Videos, I see some of my movies and I see the documentaries but some documentaries have no title. Most of them are not found by the scanner which is Ok. I have the folder set to the title. it appears the directories that have no title are the ones with multiple episodes. If necessary I could move the documentaries with multiple episodes to the series location.

It seems as if the point of defining different folders/names in video setup is to have these categories show up in the GUI but not sure about this.

BTW, I used Emby for a short time and seems it's scanner found the documentaries with cover art but no idea which data source they use as it was transparent to the user. Anyway not a big deal.

The other issue I have is when I'm watching a movie (MKV file) and I navigate away from the movie in the GUI I can't figure out how to get back to fullscreen movie w/o accessing the play button which of course launches a query to restart or continue play. For the TV function it's easy to get back to fullscreen mode.

Thanks

    Okay.

    When I select...
From this information I gather you're using the title database view.

it appears the directories that have no title are the ones with multiple episodes.
Do those documentaries actually have a series name/title?

The point of defining folders is simply to tell MediaPortal where your media is stored. If you store your media in one folder that's fine and you only need to define one folder. Otherwise you'd define all the folders that contain media.
If you use shares view (as opposed to database view - explanation of views in the manual/wiki) then by definition the folders that you define will be the folders that MediaPortal shows you (...because the purpose of shares view is to enable you to view/browse your media exactly as it is stored/organised in the file system).
