Hi,

I would like to build my own low power multiroom HTPC. I think of using the audio for 2-3 (later maybe 5-7 rooms). Mainly for Mp3 and internet radio with a local wireless PDA? for controlling. The HTPC must be hidden in our kitchen we everything is contolled.

Is this possible - what would be the best setup? Any good ideas?

Looking forward to hear from you guys :D :D

Regards,
Michael

You should use the TVserver for what you are trying to do. Have a look at the WIKI, there you will find all the information and how to download and install it...

i dont understand, you want a computer in each room, or just speakers connected to the kitchen computer?

to control the computer i would recommend salling clicker software, its not free but works very good. you can even write your own scripts. i modded one to work with mediaportal with my nokia n70 to my needs

good thing it can work with bluetooth and wifi, so for a total control with your pda in all the house wifi would be good.

you can control itunes, winamp, mediaplayer, mp, and others.

so actually if i got it right, u dont need a mp solution but a remote control.

    Hi again,

I will try to explain a little bit better ;-)

As mentioned the htpc must be hidden in the kitchen to be used as webbrowser, internetradio, mediaplayer, calendar, slideshow and DVB.

Other rooms must only be able to listen to stored music on the HTPC as well as internet radio. All rooms must be controlled individually with eg an RF remote. At the moment I am not looking for any video distribution because all rooms are equipped med PC/TV.

    Regards,
    Michael
