Hi,
Since I've got about 4000 artists in my music database I got kind of tired of manually downloading thumbnails for each artist so I wrote a quick and dirty perl script that grabs artist images from last.fm.
To run the script do the following:
1) Download and install ActivePerl from activestate.com, the script has been tested with v5.8.8
2) Download the attached perl script and save it in a folder
3) Create a folder named "Artists" in the same folder as the downloaded script
4) Copy the database musicdatabase5.db3 from <drive>:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\database to the same folder as the script
5) Execute the script
6) Copy the downloaded jpegs from "Artists" to <drive>:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\music\artists
I know that there are several bugs but it enables me to download 70% of images, the script is able to handle scandinavian/german characters.
(Someone else has probably already done this but I like sharing).
Cheers,
Martin
