Hi all,

in these days I'm managing my liquid music collection, but I'd like to know if it's possible to separate my music albums in categories.

Using Moving Picture plugin I can define some categories, for example comedy movies, horror movies, etc. then I can create, with steamedMP skin, sub menu under Movies menu, which can be linked to categories above.

Since my music collection is organized in folder like "Rap USA", "Rap ITA", "Soul" and so on, I want to know if I could create these sub menu after the main menu and link my folder to these submenu.

If you use a Tag editor to set for example the Genre Tag, you will have your albums categorized by Genres / Categories.

Solved this, I have another request: I need to scan album compilations (containing different songs from different album sources, and for this with different tags) so that they appear inside mediaportal as a single album.
I tried to select "Treat tracks in an individual folder as an album" option, but it seems does not work.

For example I have one folder in which I put my Queen preferred songs from 4 albums: Queen, Queen II, Sheer heart attack and A night at the opera.

In my tags I write as artist Queen, as album Queen 1973-1975 and in albumartist I write the 4 real albums listed above.

Inside mediaportal, the music plugin let me see 4 folders, I think because it reads by albumartist... but I want only one folder called Queen 1973-1975.

Thanks for your reply, but I already thought to this solution but I'd like to keep the original album name.

I hope in some solutions like in moving picture plugin: in this plugin it can unify two parts of a movie so that it appears as one single movie inside mp.

For music why can't I unifiy different files so that they appear like a single album?

Try to fill artist as old album name, albumartist as Queen, album as Queen 1973-1975, and Change View to:
1. albumartist list artist
2. artist list artist (skip)
3. album list album
4. disk list disk (skip)
5. track list track

Thanks for your support, but I decided that if I have a mixed compilation I solve creating a playlist.

So I have the album views if I want to listen to only songs belonging to that album. If I want to listen to some songs in a determined order, I use playlists previously created.
