Music Sorting mode changes not sticking (1 Viewer)

I recently started using MediaPortal and am liking it very much so far, I have almost everything setup to my taste. Right now I'm trying to get the Music module work to my liking, but there's one thing I'm having problems with:

I want to sort the songs by 'Filename'. In the MP setup I go to "Music\Music Sort\Sorting mode" and select 'Filename', but as soon as I close the setup it reverts back to 'Name'. Is this a bug or is this just how the program works?

I know I can select the sorting mode for each folder inside MP and it remembers my selection on a per folder basis, but I have so many folders(albums) that it would be much better to somehow set 'Filename' for all folders by default.

Is this possible?

This is by design. All you do in that dialog is select how to sort by filename, not that sorting by filename is always default.

I can agree that it would be useful though, but you really would like to be able to define this when you define the music views and I don't think that is possible at the moment. Sounds like a good feature request though.

Oh ok thanks for your reply. I guess I'm gonna have to get some program that automatically adds id3 tags based on the filename.

The reason I wanted to sort by filename is that even for the songs that are tagged, MP sometimes doesn't show the name of the song, only the artist name. I also noticed that it does this for the songs that have very long names. Maybe it's the way I tagged them, I used id3v2 that allows longer title names for those files, I think I used a mix of v1 and v2 on some mp3's, maybe that's what causing MP to only show the artist name.
