Is there a plugin available that allows you to use your Pictures as visualization? What I'm looking for is something that can be configured to pull pictures from a named source and fade them on/off the screen in random locations, while at the same time fading the current artist/album/title info on and off the screen (also at random locations).

If such a plugin does not exist, I have programming skills (in c#/.Net) and have even written code to do some of what I want (regarding the fading on/off of images and text). Is the Media Portal plugin system capable of supporting the other requirements that are needed by such an idea?

    hi there :)

I am not aware of such plugin, but I would also like something like that.
Maybe much similar to OneButtonMusic, just OneButtonSlideshow.

Photo's is big in my household, so I would support your idea and test if needed.

Could I get away with writing a plugin, or do you think I'd have to modify the actual application code to auto-start the slideshow when music is played?

I haven't looked at the code at all, but I have compiled it (just to make sure I had all my compiler ducks in a row).

I was thinking it could also be made to optionally play video files (without the sound track, of course)...

Well hopefully, a plugin will work, but I am not sure. Maybe someone else can advise?

See here, scroll down the page and you'll find the 'Picture Viz I' and 'Picture Viz II' visualizations which should be what you're looking for.
