Update version 0.2.0
Finally I released a new version of My Daily Comics plugin for MediaPortal. I was able to include most things I've been promising. The version has been updated to 0.2.0. The biggest change is the graphical configuration to add, delete and change your existing comics. It runs with the newest version of MediaPortal (1.0.1) and supports the skins Blue3, Blue3wide and Bleazle.

Original description
It's called "My Daily Comics" plugin. It allows you to look at your favorite daily comic strips from within MediaPortal. You can easily add your favorite comics from different sources ( my favorite source is ucomics.com ).

The comics are retrieved from different sources from the internet. The sources
are specified in the "comics.xml" file in the main directory of MediaPortal.
To add your own comic, just create a new element in the "comics.xml" file
or post me the link and I'll add it for future releases.

For more information visit my website or have a look at the readme.txt file in the archive.

Download
- MyDailyComics_0.2.0.zip (2009-04-15)
- alternative: MyDailyComics_0.2.0.zip (2009-04-15)

Installation
Just unzip the content of the archive to your MediaPortal folder.

This is a great plugin!

Added two swedish comics, "Hälge" and "Rocky". No banners though. If anyone feel like creating banners, please let me know :)

Code:
    <comic id="10">
      <name>Rocky</name>
      <url>http://www.dn.se/content/1/c6/35/75/31/roc_[yyyy][MM][dd].gif</url>
      <enabled>1</enabled>
      <language>swe</language>
    </comic>
    <comic id="11">
      <name>Hälge</name>
      <url>http://www.halge.com/svenska/strip/strip_vardag/[yyyy][MM][dd].gif</url>
      <enabled>1</enabled>
      <language>swe</language>
    </comic>

Great Idea! I would love to use your plugin but for some reason I can not get it to work. I have followed your instruction on how to install into my Mediaportal folder but for some reason when I turn on Mediaportal I don't see "My Daily Comics" Anywhere?

I am trying to use the two skins that you support.

Hi Sharakk
Have you enabled the plugin in MediaPortal setup? Maybe that's the reason why you don't see it in MediaPortal.

Thanks for the the Help TimmyT. It seems that my plugin was enabled but neither the show in home or show in plugins was checked. As soon as I checked the home option I was able to access the My Daily Comics in Mediportal.

I am currently using it with the MPGold skin and it seems to work great so thank you very much for this plugin!

Firstly - fantastic plug-in - got it to work straight away with Dilbert. Question for you though - what if you've got comics that don't use dates but a numbered sequentially - I thought if I used option b. but without the date field it might work but it did not. Specific example was http://www.daniellecorsetto.com/gws.html ... hope you've got some ideas for us!
