My experiences:
1) When the user has already installed a db the installation is not that easy. I suggest using an installationless database where the executables are just put to the application directory like sqlite.
2) Empty db-acc-pws are not accepted. So it does not work with a passwordless account.
3) If you choose a non existing folder in the recording settings(I only tested it with the timeshift folder, but expect it is similar for the recording folder) you can no longer play TV with the nonsensical reason that he did not detect any audio/video
4) Using the word "Timeshift" when I just want to play live is missleading
You could also put usefull tools like the tv client on a more exposed place
