My Films 4.8 problems (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

I'm just struggeling with problems in My Films 4.8.

I tried to set an individual sort item in the configuration but I always got an error message: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Length cannot be less than zero.
I tried this more times, but the same error occured. Even all I lost two of my configuarion sets and I got some other hundreds without any name. Now the Configuration Name field conatins a lot of empty entry and at the end my own config set.

How can I easily delete these lots of empty configs? The problem is that with these lots of useless config the config tool is very very slow. I tried to delete empty lines one by one manually, but I feel that the list is not shorter after a long time . Pls help.
If there is no other way I want to delete all config, reinstall plugin and start from the stretch.

When this problem fix I'd definitely need to set the sort item, the default sorting for name is very useless, I'd prefer a list sorted by MediaLabel or Number.

Before I didn't try to set sort order I hadn't any problems, the plugin worked very well. (Let me say this is a very nice and useful plugin otherwise )

Hi Again,

I have found the configuration for MyFilms in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MyFilms.xml. I found there more thousands config entry created by the previously descibed problem.

I want now to get rid of this sitty config but I cannot. I deleted MyFilms.xml to, but after the next restart it is recreated again. Where else the MyFilms config is stored? Where from shall I delete it to get rid of it for good?

I tried to uninstall/reinstall the plugin, but didn't help.

Hi Guys,

It seems it's only me who update and answer my own question... It's a pity but still hope that somebody will help me!

In the last couple of days I tried out everything, struggled a lot. I reinstalled plugin, even the whole MP, I tried MP 1.1 also ...

I came to the conclusion that if I set an optional sort order in the My Films config, the plugin cannot be configured anymore and the whole MP config become unusable (it only hangs after start). If I ignore the personal sort field, I let it empty, everything works properly again.

Is there a possibble solution for this?

PS: Even though I have this problem I still think that My Films is one of the best plugins which ever made for MP .

The error you mention I got after manually editing the myfilms xml config file. So maybe there is something wrong inside - you can try to enable a default config, this once fixed it for me (seems restructuring some data). Otherwise just delete or rename the config file and create a new one.
I had no problems adding other parameters as sort options.
