I currently building my first HTPC based on the following hardware:

• CPU: MD Athlon BE 2400
• MEMORY: Kingston 2x1GB DDR2 PC6400 CL5
• COOLER: Scythe Ninja Mini
• MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte MA78GM-S2H
• GRAPHICS: Club3D Radeon 3450 256MB PCIe
• HARDDISK: Samsung Spinpoint F1 750 GB
• CASING: Antec Fusion 430 Silver/Black
• DVD: NEC
• DIGITAL TV: FloppyDTV-C, incl. CAM Module

The system will be running Microsoft Vista with Media Portal.

Great blog though it took me a few minutes to realize that the newest info is always at the top. It appears that you are set up for HD, and have installed Windows Vista. Curious if you are planning on recording any HD channels and what your experience is. I too am considering Vista, but only because I want an Omaura case and the OLED is not compatible with Windows XP. However, I am concerned about experiencing DRM recording issues since Vista is plagued with DRM. To be honest Vista and the potential DRM issues is what is keeping me from committing to an HTPC project at this time.

I hope you keep the blog going and possibly expand to include specific configuration (plugins, etc) experiences as well. It is nice to see such detail.
