Well I have to contribute to this thread too.

This summer I finally found time to put together a new HTPC to replace the “big aluminium tower I have used so far.

After some search on net I ended up with the following parts:
-PC Case: Silverstone SST-LC18S, Silver Aluminium med 7" touch screen
    -Power: NorthQ 4775-500S, ATX 500W Silent, 140mm fan, 12-17dBA
    -Extra fans: 4 x PAPST fan 80x80x25mm (9db) (2 x in for hard disk & 2 x out back)
    -Main board: Asus P5WD2-E Premium, I975X, Socket-775
    -CPU: Intel Pentium D 940 3.2GHz
    -Memory: Corsair TWIN2X 6400 DDR2, 2048MB
    -Graphic Card: Asus GeForce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 Silent PCI-express
    -Tuner 1: Hauppauge WinTV-HVR1300MCE
    -Tuner 2: Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150MCE
    -Tuner 3: TerraTec Cinergy 2400i DT MCE, DVB-T, PCI-Express
    -Hard disk 1: Samsung SpinPoint P120S 250GB SATA2 8MB 7200RPM
    -Hard disk 2: Samsung SpinPoint T133S 300GB SATA2 8MB 7200RPM
    -Hard disk 3: Samsung SpinPoint T166 500GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM
    -Hard disk 4: Samsung SpinPoint T166 500GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM
-Burner: NEC DVD recorder ND-3540A IDE Silver
-Remote 1: Hauppauge MCE 2005 clone with lots of buttons, just love it!!
-Remote 2: My mobile phone via Bluetooth dongle, works like a charm when outside

The system performs very well with MediaPortal, sound connected digital out to receiver.
Noise from this computer its very low, you can hear it from about 1 meter if you really want.

    Pictures (big): the mess inside:
Yes, I have "thrown" everything in there, not had time to put the cables in a nice way.
