Mediaportal has been running smooth on my system for a year now, but I have never been 100% satisfied with my live TV quality with either analog or digital TV tuner. I recently purchased a HD2600XT for my HTPC system and since EVR support seemed to be on it's way I decided to try to install Windows Vista on my HTPC. I chose Vista Business since I have it avaiable for free from work.

I did a clean Vista install and installed the following applications in order:
1) operating system
2) os updates
3) device drivers
4) ffdshow tryouts beta 3 for playback of various video formats
5) Cyberlink PDVD 7.3 for MPEG2/h264
6) Mediaportal 0.2.3.0
7) Latest SVN
8) Latest TV server

On my first attempt, I did not try running Mediaportal without installing the SVN since I needed TVEngine3 anyway. I also do not use EVR, because I wanted to test the configuration with WMR9 first to check that everything works like it supposed to.

I now experience the following problems:
1) My TV
Will not start. When I press 'TV on' I get black screen. I see HDD activity from the indicator led, so I believe timeshift starts, but there is no picture on the screen. I have to close Mediaportal with 'Alt+F4' or Ctrl-Alt-Del. The same symptoms occur with MPV, DScaler and Cyberlink decoder, and I have also tried the new tsreader with no luck. I can start timeshifting manually and stream the rtsp url in vlc, so I'm quite sure the problem is in the client and not the server.
2) My videos
Will not play any kind of video file, regardless of file extension/format. When I try to play a video. I get black screen for a few seconds, then Windows desktop flashes for a fraction of seconds and I am back in Mediaportal. Some videos also cause Mediaportal to hang with the black screen and I must use 'Alt-F4' or 'Ctrl-alt-del' to exit. All these videos play fine in WMP, so I don't think it's a decoder issue.
3) Play DVD
Actually works, but I have no DVD navigation and no subtitles. Also, if I press the 'i' button on my remote, the OSD is rendered "behind" the picure. I have only tried playing DVDs with Cyberlink decoder as the other issues I have had has been the most troubling for me.

My pictures, weather etc. works fine just like before. To attempt to solve this issue I uninstalled Mediaportal, tv server and tv client and attempted to use 0.2.3.0 without svn, but I get the same symptoms with my videos.

I have included all log-files and I'm thankful for all help anyone can provide. I'm not willing to give up MP on Vista just yet...
