In My Pictures it would be very useful to have a menu item to select a destination directory, then when viewing a picture, a single key press (on the remote) would copy the file being viewed to that directory.

This would be great when viewing pictures from my photo collection, to copy the files to a flash card for printing.

Thanks
Ian

It would also be great if you could turn on the display of the picture's path like the XP screensaver does.
I have several thousand photos and occasionally one will display that needs to be rotated, deleted, etc. If I had a path to see, I could simply make a note of it and drop out of Mediaportal and fix it.

Sort of integrating the windows camera utility into MP?

"A digital picture device was connected. Do you want to copy the pictures into My Pitcures?"

"A digital music device was connected. Do you want to copy the music into My Music?"

    etc...

Getting the pictures onto the PC is a bit more complicated for me, as I take them in RAW and use some software to process them into JPG. I then use a PERL program I wrote to rename and move them into a year/month directory structure according to the timestamp in the EXIF header. I also use the Microsoft synctoy to backup onto an external drive. I'm OK with all this - this is the easy bit!

The hard part is getting my wife to copy the ones she wants printed onto a flash card. That's why a feature to copy while viewing would be great!
