O.K. This is not really a feature request for the moment. Stability and other feature go in the first line.

    I am just thinking aloud:

We might have a plug-in for recipes.
(Could this push the wife acceptance factor?)

    # they ought to be stored in a database
    # they should have a picture, too (I am the visual type for this)
    # a list of ingrediants should be there
    # searching and sorting by catagories (soup, salad etc), ingrediant should be possible
    # best would be a format in which recipes are stored and a possibility to upload, share and download recipes via internet in a community
    # maybe such a community and database format respective database already exists.

    # a tag and/or filter for the language would be handy ( so only recipes in your preferred language would occur.

Something similar would be possible for cocktails, too.

Please give some feedback, if you are generally interested. Maybe this attracts a plug-in developper and hobby cook

I really like this idea, but I'd go one step further and say I'd like to see the ability to download recipies from an existing site

Yeah I really believe this would help with the wife factor, PLUS there are quite a few geeks who happen to be food geeks in addition to all their other geeky activities =)

O.K. One of the standards for exchanging recipes seems to be the Meal-Master-Format. a pretty old format established by a freeware dos program.

Some informations in german can be found here:

    http://home.t-online.de/home/ufetzer/software/mealmast/mealmast.html

    Homepage of the meal-master program:

    http://home.comcast.net/~episoft/index.htm

    Meal-Master file format specification:

    http://phprecipebook.sourceforge.net/docs/MM_SPEC.DOC

    +
literally hundredthousands of recipes in different languages available on the net
    a quasi standard

    -
    supports no pictures

    ------------------------------------------
There is also an open source project called phprecipebook

    http://phprecipebook.sourceforge.net/index.php

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/phprecipebook/

    +
    understands meal master format
    photo ( 1 per recipe)
    different languages available

    -
it is in php not c# (cannot judge this, guess it is a disadvantage)

    --------------------------

There is another format called LaTex
    originally developped for scientific texts.
Have not found much on this. It is used for recipes and has probably some layout possibilities (for print?)

That´s it for now. I might edit if I find something else interesting.

    Great news!

So, I am really tempted to wish you a very boring weekend with lots of wind, rain and storm outside, so that you can work on this plug-in.

    Cheers
