    Hi tfarrellsr

Are you running the installer with administrator privileges?

It installed now, however regardless how I configure the Live TV... tuner card, channels, codecs either I don't get a
picture (it will say no signal) or if I do get a picture, it freezes or I get no sound. Wasn't the idea of installing WMP11 that it had the codecs I would need? Someone told me to try WinDVR3... Nothing seems to work for the live TV!
    ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Would you mind telling us your sys specs? Please edit your sys specs in "user CP". Maybe then someone could help.
Wiki is also somewhat useful. :)

    Hi again tfarrellsr

In answer to your question: WMP is required because Microsoft bundle updates for the Windows video, audio and TV frameworks with WMP updates. You need a minimum of WMP 11 to ensure that certain updates are installed. It has nothing to do with codecs or anything like that.

As ichessblumen said, please post your system specs, or even better post your log files:

You would only need WinDVR3, if your TV card lacks hardware encoding which means that a software encoder needs to be installed (which WinDVR3 is one of them).
But I would suggest AMD Media Codec Package to be used instead of WinDVR3 (which is quite outdated).

I did update my specs. I have XP MCE2004 I don't think the AMD Codec Pack you suggested works with my system. Also I keep getting a message saying
that there were two occurrences of outdated psisdec.dll. I followed the instructions and downloaded the dbdfix.zip, which was supposed to fix that problem, however they don't tell you how to install the downloaded fix.
All else seems to work but the Live TV, which is the main app that I want. I need codecs...
    Thanks

    Hi again

    I did update my specs.
We still can't see them. You need to enable an option in your profile so that we can see them. Even then, I would prefer it if you could provide log files. It only takes a minute and it should be very straightforward if you follow the instructions. Logs are actually required for support threads because we need to know more than just what operating system you're using before we can provide useful help. At a bare minimum please at least tell us what kind of tuner you're trying to use.

Also I keep getting a message saying that there were two occurrences of outdated psisdec.dll. I followed the instructions and downloaded the dbdfix.zip, which was supposed to fix that problem, however they don't tell you how to install the downloaded fix.
Read the information in the post - there are installation instructions there under the heading "installation". ;)

If you need codecs then use the MediaPortal extension installer (MPEI) - shortcut on your desktop - to install the LAV codecs (search for "LAV"). Then configure the codecs in MediaPortal configuration -->here<--.

If you need encoders (I'm guessing that you might need these to get your tuner working since you have mentioned WinDVR 3 and AMD Media Package) then *please* post log files as requested.
