Ok, don't flame me if this has been done already... but I thought it might be cool.
A plugin called "My TV Station" where you can load up your TV series and movies and schedule them to play like a real TV station does.

Why is this usefull? There are lots of times where I don't know what I want to watch, and could just flip on My Station and watch it. All my TV series could play regularly, so I could setup my own progrm schedule.

Maybe even share it out to other MediaPortals on the same LAN so they could tune in...

Im a PHP guy, so I know this is WAY outta my league, but I had the idea the other night and thought I'd post it to see if anyone thinks its a decent idea, or a giant waste of time.

Cheers,

tophicles

you could use VLC to setup play lists and then stream it across the network.

The configure MP to connect to that stream. I think this can be done through the TV Server using the WebRadio stream or use the IPTV Plugin.

With the MyTVSeries plugin you can choose to randomly play an episode from a series (not sure if you can randomly play from any series), highlight the series of your choice i.e Friends, hit the info button on your remote a menu should then pop up and you can choose 'random episode', you can also do this on each season, just select the season, hit info etc.

It would be very cool for using MediaPortal to run an in-house "tv station" for apartment blocks, schools, hotels, motels, sports clubs ...

I'd like to see that plugin where you could lay out a schedule of video files and it would generate the TV Guide data to go with it... Shame I don't have the time to do it myself :(
