Hi
I am watching TV with timeshift enabled. Then I choose to watch a pre-recorded show - no problem. However say the pre recorded show runs over the start of a live TV show, it is not possible to rewind the live TV. It appears the timeshift of the live TV was stopped when I started watching the recorded show.

However - if the live show is actually being recorded in the same scenario as above, there is no problem, the show keeps being recorded even while Im watching the pre-recorded show.

This issue has resulted in reduced WAF as she misses the start of a live program. Any suggestions welcome!

Thanks

Time shifting buffer is deleted when live TV is not being watched, so the only way around this is to Record the show you want as you found.

AFAIK there is no way around this, with TV engine 2.

TVE3 would be different, but even it would not know which channel you want to watch next (unless you selected that manually in TVServer setup), sort of makes things very complicated.

Thanks for the answer - at least it cleared that up for me. I was sort of hoping that the timeshifting just carried on on the same channel that it was on b4 watching the recorded show. I'll just have to modify the way I use MP to make sure every possible program the wife wants to watch is set to "record" (and get a bigger HD!)
    Cheers
