Hi Helmut,

The X15e is a nice case. It has a good "wow" factor. It was easy to set up, I run it as a 'clone' of the main screen, hence they are exactly the same display. Runs at 1024 x 768.

The image quality is perfect, if not a little bit subdued because of the touch screen stuck on the front.

Running them as separate monitors with a plug in to display different things on the TFT would be good.

I chose this case so i wouldn't have to turn on my plasma to play cds for example. Unfortunately (as mentioned above) it doesn't work this way for me.

Also, if the HTPC is mounted low in a cabinet, it would be very hard bending over all the time to read the display.

But, if you don't have my tv problem, and you can mount the case up high, then it's a great case. The touchscreen works really well.

In terms of cost, not that I'm shy about such things, but I'm not sure it would be relevant. I'm in Australia, where we don't manufacture ANY pc gear, so everything is imported. The case comes from Sweden, which I believe is near you :)

For the record the case is around AUD$900.00 (US $675), bloody expensive !

Not sure what you mean here - are you saying that you can't use the TFT to navigate within MediaPortal, without turning the plasma on? Why? (I couldn't find the "as mentioned above" bit...)

The only down side is my tv has separate remote buttons for power on and off, which means I can't switch it with the MCE remote (only one button for tv power). I solved that by making the tv go to standby when no DVI input.

Yes I can navigate using the TFT - works fine.

What doesn't work the way i'd really like is the "without turning the plasma on" bit.

Because of the way the plasma automatically comes out of standby when MP is awakened, the TFT is now superfluous.

As an aside, the plasma has serial port for remote control, so if I can get the protocol, I could make MP turn it on as required, (in the same manner you control your amp Taipan)

Has anyone managed to do this? I would like to display the MP "mini window" i.e. the window that is displayed on left hand corner with play and pause buttons while playing video or music.

I guess this would basically be multi monitor support in skins?

It would also allow for those of us who also have a laptop setup to use the Laptop screen for one thing, and the tv for the main playout.
