MyLyrics skin library (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

Due to some changes to the requirements for skin files (and the label control in particular) a lot of the current skins don't hold a 100% fit xml-file for MyLyrics. In particular the LRC and Editor modes doesn't work for a lot of the skins. It's time to do something about this. So, I have messed a bit around with the skin structure and finally seems fit to create MyLyrics.xml's for skins that don't hold an existing and to repair the existing that doesn't work as intended.

This thread will hold links to skin files that always work with the latest release of MyLyrics (if nothing else is mentioned on these pages). I've started with a couple of updated xml-files for Blue3 and Blue3wide. More xml files will be added in time until the all of the most common skins have been treated.

Installation
1. Copy the content of the zip-file into your Team Mediaportal skin-folder.
2. Delete the cache folder for that skin (typical at C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Cache)

The following official skin releases already hold a perfect MyLyrics.xml file:
- Streamed MP (from version 0.3270), link

If have an updated skin-file please send it to me. If you are responsible for one or more skins please include the above skin files as you find appropriate.

first of all thanx for your plugin, it's great!!!

I'm trying to do some skinning for my own sin; Blue3++. MyLyrics is not gonna be that different from your blue3 files but I would like to have the fonts of the lyrics bigger. The font tag seems ignored by the textboxes. Also noticed a "text" tag in these scrollboxes that seems good for nothing?

Hey joz,

I'm using standard MP textbox controls to display the lyrics - one for plain lyrics and multiple for LRC's - so you should be able to use the <font>-tag as <font>font16</font> for the controls. It works perfectly with the two ordinary Blue3 skins that I made. Maybe it is one of your include statements or alike that is the reason for them to be ignored..? And yup, you can most likely just delete the two text-tags for the two plain text controls. I'm not a skinner, so I'm just skinning after the "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" principle ;-)

Let me know if you have further questions regarding the controls needed to support MyLyrics. I will be happy to help since I know the skinning of it is relative complex.

What line am I supposed to edit to change the font of the lyrics? They are way too big for my 90 inch screen on 720p resolution. Everyhing else I can find in the Aeon skin file, and even make the lyrics disappear alltogether (by removing the textboxes), but can't find the line I need or it's not working.

If you want to change the font for plain lyrics simple add the <font>-tag, e.g. <font>font16</font> where '16' is the font size, to the two label control with id 20 and 21. If a control hasn't a <font>-tag it is using the standard font-settings by that skin (or at least that it is what I believe).

And 90 inch screen... NOW THAT IS A [size=+2]BIG[/size] SCREEN, DUDE!
One of these days I get my a 46 inch LCD for the living room. It's also kinda big, but not in projection screen measures.

I don't think you can use a fontsize smaller than 10. But I'm not much into the design of skins, so you better ask an expert about this one. Try ask the same question in on of the Aeon threads. One of the skin designers there will most likely be able to give a better answer than I.
